Spotlight Questions:

How long have you been with Destination British Columbia?

I have been with Destination British Columbia for 17 years, in the Market Development department working with Travel Trade and Travel Media in the promotion of British Columbia. 

Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today? 

It was a destination that inspired my career: travelling through the South Pacific (New Zealand and Australia) in the early 90s, was the catalyst for my love of the tourism industry and inspiration for pursuing a career in tourism marketing. 

What do you love most about your job?

The two things that I love most about my job are the people that I get to work with in BC, Canada and around the world, and the privilege of promoting our beautiful province. 

Where were you born?

I was born in Edmonton, and yes, I am still an Oilers fan! 

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that few people know?

I REALLY love dumplings!  It started with my Baba’s perogies and has continued throughout my life as my favourite thing to eat.  And yes, I love Richmond’s Dumpling Trail! 

What’s one item you can’t live without?

It is embarrassing to answer this; the one item that I cannot live without is lip balm.

Hiking in the Dolomites, Italy.

Favourite place you have visited?

Haida Gwaii in Northern British Columbia.

Coffee, please.

If you could have lunch with anyone in the world who would be (could be alive or dead) and why?

The person that I would like to have lunch with is my late father, Ernie.
