Lauren Wilkinson, Director of Sales & Marketing at Seair Seaplanes

How long have you been with Seair Seaplanes?
I joined Seair Seaplanes in November 2025.

Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
Honestly, I never set out to work in tourism or transportation. What started as a summer job unexpectedly turned into a career. More than any one person, it was the people in the industry who inspired me to stay. Tourism is built on relationships, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible colleagues, partners, and friends who are passionate about showcasing British Columbia and creating memorable experiences for visitors.

What do you love most about your job?
Travel. I love helping connect people to new places and experiences, and I never get tired of exploring the incredible destinations we have right here in British Columbia.

Where were you born?
Port Alberni, BC.

What’s something about you that few people know?
Over the years, I’ve helped rescue, foster, and support the spay and neuter of more than 55 cats.

What’s one item you can’t live without?
My camera. Whether I’m travelling, hiking, or spending time with family, I love capturing moments and memories.

What’s an item on your bucket list?
To explore Canada and the United States, and maybe even Europe, by camper van. I love the idea of travelling at my own pace, discovering small towns along the way, and checking off every major stadium and arena I can. An African safari is high on the list too, but the camper van adventure has my heart.

Favourite place you’ve visited?
France. I visited during the Rugby World Cup in 2023 and spent time exploring Provence. The history, architecture, food, and scenery were incredible. I’ve always loved castles and historic places, so wandering through centuries-old villages and landmarks felt like a dream trip.

Tea or coffee?
Both. All of the caffeine.

If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
My grandparents. We were incredibly close when I was growing up, and I would love the chance to show them my life today. I’d love to tell them about my career, introduce them to my kids, and hear what they would think of it all. My grandma used to jokingly call my first marketing manager position “telemarketing” because the whole marketing world was a bit foreign to her, so I think we’d enjoy talking about where that career path ended up taking me.
