Dear Team Richmond,

As we move through another busy summer season, I want to thank our Partners, local businesses, and community for the energy and collaboration that continue to make Richmond a welcoming destination for visitors.

June and July brought an exciting atmosphere to the region as communities came together to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026™. For Richmond, the celebration created valuable opportunities to showcase our destination to new audiences, highlight our diverse culinary scene, and build awareness of the experiences that make Richmond unique. We look forward to building on this momentum and welcoming more visitors to discover Richmond’s culture, attractions, and local businesses.

At the end of July, members of our team attended the Destinations International 2026 Annual Convention in Portland. Under the theme Explore: Solutions for Today. Strategies for Tomorrow., the conference offered practical ideas, fresh perspectives, and opportunities to learn from other destination organizations.

Our Business Development team also had an active summer connecting with clients and showcasing Richmond. In partnership with Richmond Hotel Destination Association hotels, the team welcomed clients from Victoria for an Seair Seaplanes experience, a floral workshop at Athiana Acres, and a guided food tour along Alexandra Road. The team also represented Richmond at industry trade shows, conferences, and events across Canada.

Our Travel Trade team continued strengthening relationships with key industry partners, including supporting familiarization opportunities connected to the 2026 CITAP+ and H.I.S. Canada Summer Event.

This September, we will host our annual End of Summer Mix and Mingle at Athiana Acres, bringing tourism partners together to celebrate the season with a farm tour and U-pick experience, and reconnect before fall. Partners interested in attending can email info@tourismrichmond.com

As part of Tourism Richmond’s 30th anniversary, we are inviting partners to share a favourite memory from the past three decades. It is a chance to celebrate the people, partnerships, and experiences that have shaped Richmond’s tourism community. Partners who submit a memory will be entered for a chance to win a special Tourism Richmond-branded 30th anniversary YETI mug. Email info@tourismrichmond.com for details.
