Dear Team Richmond,

It’s been a full and energizing start to 2026, and it’s wonderful to see so much activity already happening across our industry.

In January, Ceri Chong, VP, Destination & Community, and I attended PCMA Convening Leaders, where Tourism Richmond joined Destination Canada alongside fellow destination partners from across the country. It was a valuable opportunity to reconnect with planners, hear what’s top of mind in the meetings sector, and ensure Richmond continues to be represented in national conversation.

Back at home, our city is coming alive as we celebrate Lunar New Year. From cultural events to busy restaurants and local businesses, the energy across Richmond is truly something special. These moments reflect the vibrancy that makes our community unique.

We were also proud to be named a finalist for the Culinary & Agritourism Experience Award at the 2026 BC Tourism Industry Awards, presented by the Culinary Tourism Alliance. The recognition reflects our work on the Steveston Spot Prawn & Seafood Celebration and related coastal sustainability initiatives, celebrating Richmond’s connection to local waters and seasonal cuisine. It highlights the strength of our culinary community and the authentic experiences that continue to draw visitors to our city.

Looking ahead, I hope you’ll join us at our Industry Luncheon this April, which we are pleased to be hosting in partnership with the Radisson Blu Vancouver Airport Hotel & Marina. It’s always a meaningful opportunity to reconnect, share updates, and look ahead together. If you haven’t registered yet, we’d love to see you there. For any questions, please reach out to info@tourismrichmond.com.

Thank you for being part of Team Richmond. I look forward to all that we’ll accomplish together this year.

All the best,

Nancy Small
