Shan Tseng from NTS International Group

Spotlight Questions:

How long have you been with the NTS International Group?
I started part-time in 2011 before coming on full time around 2013 or so – time flies!

Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
My parents played the biggest role in the career today for sure. The times I had to accompany them to work events throughout my youth opened my eyes as everywhere I went, people were singing their praises.

What do you love most about your job?
A lot of my job balances internal and external responsibilities, and while tourism is a very social industry, something about internally putting together all the puzzle pieces of a tough itinerary just speaks to me!

Where were you born?
I was born in Taipei, Taiwan!

What is something about you (a fun fact) that few people know?
A new(er) fun fact about me is I love going to spin (indoor cycling). The music, the vibe – it’s such a good outlet after a full day at the desk!

What is one item you cannot live without?
I can’t live without my coffee mug, for sure!

An item on your bucket list.
I’m currently searching for a new bucket list goal, I guess! My most recent bucket list item was motorcycling, and I got to have fun with that for a couple years after covid.

Favourite place you have visited?
There’s this one coffee shop I think about often. There are a couple locations, but the one I specifically think about a lot is CHLIV in Jiufen. Their mocha has the gentlest fragrance of chocolate, where a lot of mochas I’ve tried tend to have a heavy sweetness that is overpowering for me.

Tea or coffee?
As above… definitely coffee!

If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
If I could answer this for someone I do and don’t know personally… I would choose Taylor Swift for the one I don’t know personally. Her music and concert tours are incredible in both writing and athleticism (3.5 hour show!?), but I actually have a lot of curiosity on her business mindset as well. For the one I do know personally, it would be my late grandfather. He was one of my best friends as a child, but I also feel like I have so much about life to learn from him too. More time with him would also be exceptional.
