What is Winter in the Village?

Winter In The Village is a program of events that occurs every November and December in Steveston, focusing on festive celebrations. Winter In The Village unifies a collection of events under one promotional banner, allowing residents to engage more deeply with the events in their area, whilst offering a wide range of exciting experiences to attract visitors from further afield.

It is a key initiative that Tourism Richmond and community partners deliver each year to encourage locals and visitors to experience the vibrancy of the village during the Winter months

How can businesses get involved?

There are several ways that Steveston businesses and organizations can participate in Winter In The Village events:

Host an Event and Receive Grant Support
If you’re planning an event already or just have an idea we’d love to talk to you about including it in Winter In The Village. Tourism Richmond also offers small grant supports.

Participate in an Existing Event
There are lots of events already happening that could be a good fit for you to participate in. Check out the full event calendar and these key events that are looking for partners:

• Girls Night Out – available to all members of the Steveston Merchants association.
• Steveston Sips – available to any food and beverage businesses located in Steveston.
• Festival of Trees at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site – available to businesses, organizations and societies.
• Steveston Holiday Display Contest – Available to any Steveston business or organization with a storefront. Sign-up by November 5th with the link provided to partake.
