Dear Team Richmond,
Spring is in the air and with the new season comes a new face and some changes to Tourism Richmond. All good changes, and ones we’ve been meaning to make.
Introducing New Directors
As you may know, we’ve welcomed a new director of marketing on board earlier this month. We’ve brought Patrick Gill on board as part of the leadership team to guide our team.
Patrick’s experience with high-value brands such as Pacific Blue Cross, BCAA and Destination BC made him a standout candidate. He’s been wearing the director of marketing hat for only a few weeks, but he’s no stranger to the industry. He’ll be out and about to meet stakeholders face-to-face in the coming months, but if you’re eager to reach out to him, feel free to reach him directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re excited to have him on board!
Many of you may know Ceri Chong already. In the past year, she’s been busy leading the charge in industry and destination development, working harder than ever to create new programs for stakeholders and acting as a mentor and teacher for Cooperative Marketing Investment recipients. As such, we’ve promoted her to the director of destination and industry development, where she’ll oversee destination management and stakeholder engagement. I am excited to see where Ceri will take this in the future!
Please join us in congratulating both Ceri and Patrick on their new roles with the organization!
Richmond Tourism Challenge
Every year, Vancouver Attractions puts on the Tourism Challenge for the Vancouver tourism industry to experience world-class tourism hotspots. The goal of the annual challenge is simple: education. Since Richmond has an abundance of outstanding attractions, the industry development team has decided to bring back a popular option to getting those stamps: the Richmond Tourism Challenge FAM.
This FAM is open to all Tourism Richmond stakeholders’ front-line employees, including non-Tourism challenge participants. Whether you’d like to learn more about our attractions, or simply want to collect stamps, the industry development team has worked with several attractions, with support from the City of Richmond, to bring you a half-day tour of the following attractions:
- The Olympic Experience at the Richmond Olympic Oval
- Richmond Art Gallery
- Richmond Museum
- Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
- Steveston Interurban Tram
- Britannia Shipyards National Historical Site
Join this fam by clicking here (multiple dates available). Don’t forget your passport – you can earn up to 7 stamps on this tour.
As always, I welcome thoughtful questions and feedback from you. My door is open so please don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
