Dear Team Richmond,
Each year, I like to take a moment and reflect on our past accomplishments. One word came to mind, clearly summarizing everything: Evolution. The organization has grown and changed over the past few years and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved n such a short time. But… we aren’t quite done, yet.
2020 – 2023 Business and Marketing Strategy
Since the launch of the original business and marketing strategy in 2018, we’ve had a chance to review and update it under new leadership. While our vision, mission and overall strategy have not changed dramatically, we’ve taken the opportunity to further hone our tactics and approach to marketing the destination.
We also took the opportunity to update our five strategic pillars to move our vision forward. Below are the five reimagined pillars:

- Accelerate Destination Development
- Leadership in Digital
- Focused Business Development Initiatives to Maximize Impact
- Organizational Excellence
Though growth is always top of mind for us, we recognize that the tourism industry is ever changing, and our strategic direction allows for flexibility.

We’re now fully staffed and earlier this year, we looked inwards to focus on our corporate values. I’m proud to present our core values: EPIC. Have a look at our values outlined below, and in our updated business and marketing strategy.
I’d like to take a moment to thank the team of professionals at Tourism Richmond, as well as our stakeholders, key partners and friends in the industry. We are very excited to take on 2020 (and beyond) with renewed vigour.
