Since the beginning of the year, seven Tourism Richmond stakeholders have been busy working with Experience Development specialist Joe Veneto to create new experiences for Richmond. This project was part of a pilot project in partnership with Destination BC.
Experiences will be launched over the coming months, and fall into three themes: Heritage & Cultural, Culinary, and Wildlife.

Heritage & Cultural
Voyage of the Gikumi: Exploring the Fraser River Estuary
Presented by Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site
Explore the rich history and heritage of the Fraser River from the decks of an authentic BC wooden work boat, the Gikumi. Discover how the river has been creator, sculptor, and provider for the peoples along its banks. Embark from Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site for a 3-hour voyage to discover the engaging stories, lore and legends that make the Fraser a life-giving force for the region.

Steveston Stories & Community Treasures
Presented by The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
Discover Steveston’s stories and community treasures through the eyes of locals who were instrumental in saving a part of the legacy of the west coast fishing industry. Learn the history of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and the people who once called Steveston home. Go behind the scenes to see how the treasures and artifacts are collected, processed, and saved.
