She’s worked as a film set caterer, served as the head cook for 120 rural tree planters, and now she’s set to start her biggest culinary adventure yet: eating at 365 restaurants in 365 days. After an extensive, world-wide search we are thrilled to announce that popular Vancouver-based blogger Lindsay Anderson has accepted the highly coveted “Richmond Foodie Blogger” job.

Here’s why we love Lindsay:

From the minute we clicked on her brilliant application video, we were immediately drawn to Lindsay’s engaging personality and undeniable passion for food. Throughout the application process, Lindsay demonstrated her unique approach to engaging an online community by launching a photo campaign where supporters from across the world championed her food blogging skills through 277 photos from 6 continents, 29 countries and 131 cities. Then she exceeded our expectations (hers too!) by rallying her online supporters once again to capture a whopping 3,366 public votes on the Tourism Richmond Facebook page.

A talented storyteller and photographer, Lindsay is an adventurer at heart. She’s travelled extensively around Europe and southern Africa, and shared her stories and amazing culinary finds on her blog, linds-eats. When she travels, Lindsay immerses herself in the local culture and her blog demonstrates a clear understanding that cuisine is an integral part of a travel experience. On top of all that, Lindsay’s broad culinary experience—everything from cheesemongering to artisanal bread making to herding goats on an organic farm and recently completing her Masters in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy—will bring a personal touch to the 365daysofdining blog.

Lindsay’s first day on the job is Wednesday, June 6, 2012. We invite you to check back here often to follow along on Lindsay’s unique adventure.

Thank you to all Foodie Blogger applicants!

From an overwhelming 1,507 international applications to our tremendously talented top 12, we selected three finalists: Kelly Brisson of Ottawa, ON; Melanie Hillier of Toronto, ON; and Lindsay Anderson of Vancouver, BC. Choosing just one of these three exception individuals to be our Foodie Blogger has been an excruciating task but, ultimately, we are convinced that Lindsay is the one (see above!). We have been committed to a transparent hiring process and feel a responsibility to state that before our final decision was made, candidate Kelly Brisson made the difficult decision to pull herself out of the competition due to personal reasons.

Once again, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We love our talented applicants so much that you just might see them again throughout the course of the 365 Days of Dining campaign. Stay tuned!
