The Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel’s ever-popular CAVU restaurant is hosting a big party this year and there are two ways to partake. For $65 (taxes and gratuity included), you can dive into a sumptuous New Year’s Eve dinner. And if you’re up for some dance floor action as well, you can pay another $15 for a late-night boogie (from 10:00pm) with a live music from the Nikita Afonso Band, along with a midnight countdown and a glass of bubbly. Buck & Ear: NYE Party
Time: from 5:00pm
One of Richmond’s favourite old-school pub venues, Steveston’s Buck & Ear is offering a good value option for New Year’s Eve revelers. Your $45 ticket includes a four-course pub-style dinner, all the necessary party favours (while supplies last), late-night DJ dancing (from 9:00pm), and that all-important group toast to mark the big countdown and welcome in 2019. This waterfront hotel’s Deck Kitchen + Bar is the perfect place for a great party. And this one features live music from popular Vancouver toe-tappers Dr. Strangelove plus party favours, tasty appetizers, and that vital midnight bubbly toast. Overnight parking is included in the general admission ticket price and you can also book a special hotel sleepover package that includes a room at the Pacific Gateway Hotel and access to the party: ideal if you want an easy way to crash after all that celebrating. If you don’t want to stay up late, the Fairmont’s chic Jetside Lounge is running a 3:00pm to 5:00pm champagne reception, complete with live music and a pop-up oyster bar. But the main attraction starts at 7:00pm, with a decadent buffet in the hotel’s Globe@YVR restaurant. This special New Year’s Eve feast includes smoked salmon, suckling pig, blue cheese-crusted filet beef, and much more. The show theatre at Richmond’s glamorous casino resort is offering a great New Year’s night for local and visiting music fans: a multi-act tribute to the classic tunes of Fleetwood Mac, Guess Who, Rod Stewart, and more.
