The secret to a successful holiday weekend is to plan ahead. But don’t worry, we’ve done some of the legwork for you. Read on for our top suggestions on what to do in Richmond this BC Day long weekend.

Don’t forget to share your #RichmondMoments with us as you’re out exploring the city!

Go WHALE WATCHING

Book a whale watching trip with Vancouver Whale Watch or Steveston Seabreeze Adventures for a chance to see whales in the wild. Orcas are the main attraction, but keep your eyes open for seals, otters, eagles, and other wildlife. Tours depart from Steveston daily—make a reservation ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

Explore a New (To you) PArk

Slow down and connect with nature at one of Richmond’s amazing parks. Just south of Westminster Highway you'll find Minoru Park, which is full of meandering walking routes along ponds, waterfalls, and floral displays. Then there’s Garden City Community Park, where you’ll find an Arboretum housing a collection of over 100 species of trees from around the pacific Rim. Looking for family fun? Head over to Terra Nova Rural Park, home of the Terra Nova Adventure Play Environment, a playground featuring a 10-metre tall treehouse and a zipline!
