Bike the Dyke

Are you an avid or first-time biker? If so, this is the experience passport for you. With the Bike the Dyke passport, you can discover signature views, attractions, and cuisine as you experience Richmond’s dyke trails by bike. This experience passport allows you to bike along the Middle Arm Trail, West Dyke Trail, and part of the South Dyke trail.

Budget 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the route and check in to three designated locations on the trail. Discover 15 points of interest throughout the route, equipped with fun facts and photo opportunities. Some points of interest include the Richmond Olympic Oval, Terra Nova Rural Park, Garry Point Park, and more! 

Once you have completed the trail, pick up a Tourism Richmond Bike Light at the Visitor Centre Kiosk located in Steveston Village on Bayview Street.

Big Red Scavenger Hunt 

Are you and your family history fanatics? Be sure to check out the Big Red Scavenger Hunt during your time in Richmond. This experience passport allows you to learn about Steveston’s past by joining Big Red, an Irish Red Setter dog, known as the “unofficial Mayor” of Steveston.  

Journey alongside Big Red on a quest to uncover the history and treasures of Richmond. Follow numerous clues left by the Cannery Cat to find all the answers!

This experience passport is suitable for young families with the option to finish the scavenger hunt over a few days. To successfully complete this quest, budget 1.5 to 2 hours. As you visit each heritage site, take advantage of the audio recording which explains the story and history of each check-in location. Some landmarks include the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, Steveston Tram, Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, and more.  

Once you have finished, you can receive a Tourism Richmond sticker and postcard at the Visitor Centre Kiosk. Additionally, receive 50% off on admission to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.
