Richmond’s 3rd annual Cherry Blossom Festival is Sunday April 7th in Garry Point Park. A grove of 255 Akebono cherry trees provides a stunning backdrop for a day of nature, culture and community. Explore Japanese traditions including a Sado tea ceremony, Japanese calligraphy or the rhythm of a Taiko drumming. Children can explore the Chibi-Chan Tent with origami and Yo Yo Tsuri (a balloon fishing game). Enjoy entertainment on the Sakura and Kuno stages all day with a selection of food stations serving bento boxes, yakatori skewers, and Japanese inspired hot dogs. Admission is free.
