Canada 150 in Richmond, BC

Canada is the place to be in 2017, as we celebrate 150 years of Confederation! Now is the time to visit Richmond, BC and check out some of the amazing events that are in store over the course of the year.

Fun fact: Did you know that Lonely Planet named Canada the #1 country to visit in 2017? Our "elongated birthday party" has something to do with it!

Celebrate Canada 150 at Richmond Canada Day in Steveston on July 1st. Highlights of the day include the Steveston Salmon Festival (don’t miss out on the famous salmon BBQ or the Canada Day parade!); ship boarding at Riverside Village; musical performances by Wintersleep, Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer, and Youngblood; and a Canada Day fireworks show.

You can also take advantage of free admission to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site all year long (courtesy of Parks Canada), explore over 80km (50 miles) of trails throughout the city, enjoy delicious culinary styles from across the globe, tour around the city on a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus, eat your way through two amazing night markets, and so much more.
