What is the distance from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Richmond's City Centre?
YVR Airport is approximately 9 km (6 miles) away from Richmond’s City Centre.  Travel time is about a 12 minute drive/cab ride from the airport during regular traffic.  Additionally, the Canada Line Skytrain can take you directly from YVR to the Richmond-Brighouse station and trains run every 6-7 minutes during peak hours.  

How far is Richmond from downtown Vancouver?
Richmond is only 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver via the Canada Line Skytrain. For as little as $10.00 delegates can ride the line with an all-day transit Day Pass to explore!

How many hotels are in Richmond?  
Richmond is home to 23 hotels.  We are proud to have all the major hotel chains as well as Canadian and independent properties. Many of our hotels provide complimentary shuttle services to and from YVR Airport.  And most of our hotels are within easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

What is the current hotel sales tax in Richmond?
Currently the hotel room tax in Richmond is 14.24%.

What are the city's tobacco laws?
Richmond's public facilities are officially non-smoking.

How much is parking in Richmond?
Parking rates vary at all locations, and can be charged hourly, daily, and nightly.  Group rates are typically extended at all hotels.  Some hotels provide complimentary parking as well.

What is the largest meeting space? How many people can you host in a meeting?
While there isn’t an official convention center, Richmond is the perfect destination to host conferences or up to 1,000 delegates! The largest conference hotel is 31,000 sq. ft.  Our hotels love to get creative and can sometimes partner up to host larger groups!

Does Richmond have any union hotels?
Yes, Richmond has both union and non-union hotels.

Why should we book our meeting in Richmond?
Not only is Richmond an affordable, cost-effective alternative from downtown Vancouver, but our location is very accessible by air and car.
For clients that are strongly considering Richmond as their next conference destination, Tourism Richmond provides a booking incentive offer where clients can earn between $500 and $2016* back to their master folio!  The incentive is based on a minimum two night hotel stay, and on peak room nights. Payout is based on actualized guestrooms.
