How many people can you host?

Our diverse meeting venues can host groups of up to 1,000 delegates. Our biggest hotel meeting space is just under 10,000 square feet, but several of our hotels can also be partnered to host larger meetings.

What kind of hotels do you have?  

Richmond is home to more than 20 major hotels, including all your trusted brands. Many of these hotels provide complimentary shuttle services to and from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) – and most are within easy walking distance of great shopping and dining.

How much is hotel tax in Richmond?

Total hotel tax in Richmond is 17.16%, comprised of a 5% goods and services tax (GST); 8% provincial sales tax (PST); 3% municipal and regional district tax (MRDT) and a 1.00% destination marketing fee (which comes to 1.16% after GST, PST, and MRDT is applied).

Does Richmond have union hotels?

Yes, Richmond has a combination of union and non-union hotels.

Many Richmond attractions are keen to host events. This includes our two National Historic Sites, the Richmond Olympic Oval, and our local wineries. We also have an extensive restaurant scene perfect for group dinners and dine-around events. And when you’re planning team-building activities, we have everything from escape rooms to golf courses and go carting.

What is there to do in Richmond before or after our meeting?

From celebrated National Historic Sites to the charming boardwalks of Steveston Village and from designer outlet shopping to an official Winter Olympics venue, Richmond is packed with down-time options for delegates. Activities-wise, Richmond is a popular spot for whale-watching and winery visits, and has a nightlife scene that includes a sparkling casino. And with more than 800 restaurants and the best Asian cuisine outside Asia, there’s a full menu of amazing dining here.

How far is Richmond from Vancouver International Airport (YVR)?

It’s around 9 km (6 miles) from YVR to city centre Richmond. That’s a 15-minute drive or taxi trip or a short ride on the Canada Line SkyTrain rapid transit system. YVR’s Canada Line station links you to six additional Richmond stations as well as nearby Vancouver. Service runs every few minutes from early morning to late at night.

How far is Richmond from downtown Vancouver?

Richmond is around 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver via the Canada Line rapid transit system. A handy transit DayPass covers unlimited rides on bus, SkyTrain and SeaBus services – the perfect way for visitors to explore the region.

How much does parking cost in Richmond?

Parking rates vary across the city; they can also be charged at hourly, daily or nightly increments. Hotels typically offer group parking rates, while some also provide free parking.

What are the smoking laws in Richmond?

Echoing the rest of Canada, smoking is prohibited in workplaces (such as bars and restaurants) and also in indoor public spaces throughout Richmond. Many hotels also have their own in-room smoking bans.

What’s the weather like in Richmond?

Richmond has a mild year-round climate that typically features comfortable temperatures, hardly any winter snow and measurably less rain than our Vancouver neighbour.  Average high temperatures hit 23°C/73°F in summer, falling to around 5°C/41°F in winter. Our average temperature for the year is 10°C/50°F.
