TV & Film in Richmond, BC
You may have seen Richmond on the small or big screen and didn’t even know it! In recent years many television shows and movies have been filmed in the city.
It’s always fun to stop by and see if you can spot celebrities on set in Richmond. Sometimes you can find information about filming on our Twitter account, although we typically only receive a few days of advance notice when a production company is in town.
One of the most notable TV shows that has filmed here is ABC’s Once Upon a Time. The neighbourhood of Steveston plays the small town of Storybrooke on the show, and local businesses and landmarks can often be spotted in the background. Much of the filming takes place on Moncton Street where many businesses have fictional Storybrooke alter egos, and popular attractions such as the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site and London Heritage Farm have been featured on the show.
