Unwrap a full season of festive fun in Steveston Village from November 21 to December 31, 2019!
Richmond’s charming waterfront village is a Christmas destination for locals and visitors who love the magic of the festive holiday season. From decorated historic sites to special events and toe-tapping performances—plus appearances from Santa himself—there’s a full menu of free or low-cost family-friendly activities here from the third week of November onwards.
Step into Christmases past at Steveston’s beloved heritage attractions. Over at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, holiday enticements include the lovely Historic Buildings Light Display and bustling Heritage Christmas Craft Fair.
Not to be outdone, the Steveston Museum's adjoining green space will host an interactive Dancing Trees display, along with some Songs in the Snow carol concerts. Nearby, the Steveston Tram presents a special Winter Tram event with kid-friendly crafts and even an appearance by Santa himself.
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site will also be hosting its sparkling Festival of Trees and ever-popular Cannery Farmers Market—an ideal place for gift shopping.
With dozens of events in Steveston this holiday season, this is the perfect time for locals to restart their Yuletide traditions—and for visitors to discover new attractions in a festive light. From a classic car display to Santa’s official arrival by boat, slip on your holiday sweater and enjoy Winter in the Village! Local merchants will also be participating in a Winter Window Contest. You can vote for your favourite window display by dropping off a ballot at the Steveston Tram or the Steveston Museum.
