McArthurGlen Vancouver Kicks off the Holiday Season With its Annual Tree Lighting Event

The holidays are right around the corner, and to kick off the season, McArthurGlen Designer Outlets Vancouver is bringing back its much-anticipated Sparkle Brighter event for the eighth year on Wednesday, November 16, from 5 – 8 pm.

Take part in the lighting of a 52 ft Christmas tree (one of the tallest in the city), lit up with 1,500 baubles and more than 12,000 twinkling lights. To make this year’s event even merrier, highlights include the children’s Winter Wonderland play area, which will feature a life-size walk-through holiday light tunnel, along with new festive decor spread throughout the centre. In the true spirit of the season, McArhurGlen has partnered with local schools to showcase student artwork to be featured in The Walk of Trees display with individually decorated trees from Vancouver Career College, Little Flower Academy and McNeely Elementary School.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Holiday stilt walkers dressed as The Nutcracker and Snow Queen
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. -Santa’s Letter Writing Station
5:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. – Live entertainment from the Vancouver Pops Choir
5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Olin Brix musical duo
6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – The ShowStoppers performance
7:00 p.m. – Tree lighting ceremony with a special appearance from the North Pole!
