Happy Spring!

I am thrilled to announce that we received the 2024 Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) Professional Excellence Award at the BC Tourism Awards in Victoria on March 7th. Our sincere gratitude goes out to our dedicated board of directors and team at Tourism Richmond, whose unwavering commitment to our EPIC values (Excellence, Passion, Integrity, Collaboration) played a pivotal role in earning this accolade. I am so proud of what this team does every single day.

This recognition highlights our ongoing efforts to deliver tangible benefits to visitors, residents, and industry partners in Richmond. As Team Richmond, we remain committed to our goal to shape a bright future for tourism in our destination.

In March, we hosted our inaugural Industry Luncheon Event in collaboration with the Westin Wall Centre Vancouver Airport Hotel. At that event, we had the privilege of welcoming Greg Oates, Senior Vice President of Innovation at MMGY Next Factor, who delivered a captivating presentation on Generative Artificial Intelligence and its transformative impact on the travel industry.

Artificial Intelligence poses incredible opportunities to both our daily and working lives and there is a ton of work being done by our team with AI to improve both the visitor experience and how we communicate about our destination. Watch this space to hear more.
