Tourism Richmond, along with local hotel partners, travelled to Toronto April 28-30th to attend MPI’s annual education and networking event, The Event. With over 200 corporate meeting planners primarily from Ontario and Quebec, Richmond showcased the value of our “Pacific. Authentic.” destination through an immersive Tea Tasting activation.

Team Tourism Richmond takes on MPI’s annual education and networking event

Working with local tea purveyor and longtime Steveston retailer, Nikaido, Team Richmond served three exclusively blended tea’s each with their own unqiue flavour and story profile tied to a story of what makes Richmond a can’t-miss destination in BC. From historic tales of the 1220 Tram Car to the rich agricultural industry, Meeting Planners got to see, smell, and hear all about why Richmond the perfect spot to host their next meeting or event.

Showcasing this activation was the brand new 10×20 Tourism Richmond trade show booth, which made its debut earlier in April at CSAE’s Tete-a-Tete trade show in Ottawa. The booth serves as a spectacular representation of the coastal beauty, multicultural heritage, and immersive activities that Richmond offers its visitors. Meeting planners stopped by the booth to discover the surprising difference that comes from hosting a “Conference on the Coast” before selecting their favourite tea to take home with them.
