From art events to live music and from circus shows to spring break happenings, read on for 10 top things to do in Richmond this March. 1. EUROPA SUPER CIRCUS

The thrills and spills of the big top are on full display at this much-anticipated circus residency at Lansdowne Centre. From clowns to acrobats; from aerialists to dirt bike daredevils; and from tight-wire performers to the heart-stopping Wheel of Death, gather all your friends and family for this spectacular all-ages show. Matinees and evening performances are available.

2. RICHMOND DELTA YOUTH ORCHESTRA STRING CONCERT

Admission: Adults $28; seniors (55+), youth, children and students $19
Support and applaud some of the region’s most talented young musicians at this delightful afternoon concert. Focused on strings, you’ll be treated to performances from junior, intermediate, senior and chamber groups, as well as the dedicated artistry of some inspiring soloists. This family-friendly concert is a great way to introduce young people to orchestral performance.

3. SPRING BREAK AT BRITANNIA SHIPYARDS
5180 Westwater Drive, Richmond, B.C.

Step back in time with your kids this month at Steveston’s Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. You’ll find family-friendly activities on three weekends, plus plenty of opportunities to explore the evocative heritage attraction and discover just how locals used to live. Consider adding a visit to the Steveston Tram as well—complete with its special Hamm on the Tram Spring Break activity.

4. WALK RICHMOND: GARRY POINT PARK/WEST DYKE TRAIL

Richmond’s hidden gem, the cost-free walking series continues this month––and early spring is the perfect time to try it out. Aimed at walkers of all ages and fitness levels, there are four walks scheduled for March (visit the link above for locations) but we particularly love this Garry Point Park/West Dyke Trail stroll for its breathtaking shoreline scenery and brilliant bird-spotting opportunities.

5. ARTIST SALON AT RICHMOND ART GALLERY
Richmond Cultural Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate, Richmond, B.C.
March 14 (1:00pm to 2:30pm)
Admission: free
Discover BALANCE, a new 300-foot-long art installation created by Rebecca Bayer at the CF Richmond Centre. The event starts at the gallery with a talk from Bayer and others about her creation and the city’s public art program. The audience will then cross the street to see the work—which references the equilibrium of land and water––in situ. RSVP for this event.

6. BC SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Richmond Olympic Oval, 6111 River Road, Richmond, B.C.
March 14 and March 15 (8:00am to 4:00pm)
Admission: free
Built as a speed skating venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Richmond Oval is the perfect place to rediscover this ultra-exciting sport via the weekend-long provincial short track championships. Spectators can drop in to catch all the adrenalin-fueled action on Saturday or Sunday, with a variety of age categories tackling sprint races of up to 500 metres.

7. SWING OUT RICHMOND LIVE BAND NIGHT
Steveston Hub, 3551 Moncton Street, Richmond, B.C.
March 21 (6:00pm to 9:30pm)
Admission: $20 in advance; $25 on the door (children 11 and under free)
Looking for a uniquely fun night out in Steveston? Join the super-friendly folks at Swing Out Richmond for one of their regular dance and live music soirees. Everyone is welcome (kids included) and the evening kicks off with a beginner-friendly lindy hop class––no partner or experience needed—followed by live music and DJ sets (this month’s toe-tapping band is the Fraser Valley Stompers).

8. WILDWOMAN
Gateway Theatre, 6500 Gilbert Road, Richmond, B.C.
March 26 to April 4
Admission: $37 to $57 (student rush tickets $25)
A daring, funny and richly entertaining retelling of the true story of Catherine de Medici, who marries King Henry II of France and quickly realizes just how cruel and dangerous court life can be. But when she finds respite with a caged “wildman” who she discovers locked up in the dungeons, her own wild side is gradually unleashed––with powerful and shocking results.

9. LANSDOWNE CENTRE SPRING CARNIVAL

All the fun of the fair returns to Richmond this month at the annual Lansdowne Centre Spring Carnival. You’ll find a full slate of exciting West Coast Amusements midway rides to hop aboard, typically including the Tornado, Zipper, Ferris Wheel, Haunted Mansion and many more. And don’t forget to dive into some warm and delicious mini-doughnuts before you leave!

10. SEEDY SATURDAY
Terra Nova Rural Park Farm Centre, 2631 Westminster Highway, Richmond, B.C.

Gearing up to plant your 2026 garden? You’ll find plenty of inspiration at this green-thumbed, family-friendly community event. There will be seed sales and a seed exchange onsite––bring your own seeds along in small envelopes––but be sure to stick around for all the information booths, gardening workshops, expert talks and hands-on activities for kids.
