Favourite place in Richmond: Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site
I love the history and the architecture at this National Historic Site. It is a rare surviving mixture of canneries, boatyards and residences! Such an interesting place to spend time, especially after a wonderful breakfast or lunch at one of the local restaurants in picturesque Steveston, a lovely walk away.

The Vice President, Destination & Community is responsible for building and growing tourism businesses within the Richmond tourism community.  The VP develops and executes strategies that connect the Richmond community to Tourism Richmond’s marketing strategies.

Favourite place in Richmond: Steveston Village
I enjoy all corners of Richmond, especially the energy and food in Central Richmond, however, Steveston Village is a special place for me. The history, the stories, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, and other historic sites shape the village and keep it true to its roots. The active fishing harbour is part of daily life today, there is always something happening on the river and in the village – I love to stroll the village streets or sit back and watch what’s going on!

As a resident of Richmond my favorite place is Gary Point, because of its ability to be both a peaceful and vibrant place to be.  It’s a great place to walk the dog or grab a coffee with friends while watching its beautiful water views.  It is also an amazing place to take your children for an ice cream or picnic.

One of my favorite places in Richmond is its bustling food courts, where the city’s vibrant cultural mix comes alive through an incredible variety of Asian cuisines. Each visit feels like more than just a meal, it becomes a chance to discover new flavours and enjoy a mini food adventure.

I love visiting Terra Nova Community Garden. As one of the community gardeners, I spend every weekend during the summer time to taking care my garden plot there. It provides opportunities for me to not only grow food and flowers, but also to meet new friends, share knowledge, and enjoy the beautiful nature. ​

Working under the supervision of the Accountant/Vice President of Finance, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end reconciliations, invoicing, and general office duties including filing and processing payments.

I enjoy biking along the Dyke Trails in Richmond. The trails offer a peaceful environment with stunning views, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. It’s my favourite way to unwind and get some exercise while surrounded by Richmond’s natural landscapes.

Favourite place in Richmond: Iona Beach Regional Park
Come rain or shine, there’s no better way to stretch your legs and blow away the cobwebs than a walk at Iona Beach. Beautiful views of Vancouver Island and the North Shore mountains provide a stunning backdrop to spot some migratory birds, whilst a stroll or cycle along the 4km jetty takes you out into the Strait of Georgia for a brief respite from the vibrant business of the city.

The Specialist, Destination Experience is responsible for engaging with Tourism Richmond’s stakeholders by assisting the Destination & Industry Development team with ensuring visitors to Richmond, from near and far, have an exceptional destination experience before, during and after their visit. This role combines both visitor servicing, industry engagement and development within the Richmond tourism community.  

Favourite place in Richmond: Richmond Olympic Oval 
The Richmond Olympic Oval brings back unforgettable memories of the 2010 Olympics. Each time I visit, I am reminded of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the medal shows, and the excitement that filled the streets of Metro and Downtown Vancouver. Aside from the unique architecture and memories of the oval, I also enjoy walking and biking along the dike route, which surrounds the building, to view the scenic Fraser River.

Favourite place in Richmond: Minoru Park
I like going to Minoru Park because of its convenient location and the variety of things to do and see. Minoru Park is located in the heart of the city, just steps away from the City Hall, Art and Culture Centre, Aquatic Centre, library, and Richmond Centre shopping mall. It’s an excellent place to watch wildlife (rabbits, squirrels, ducks, geese etc) as well as enjoy the beautiful landscapes, waterfall, and the lakes. There are also lots of shady areas in the park, which are perfect for a walk on hot days.

I love to walk, and I love being by the ocean. The park offers a variety of hiking trails (dependant on the tide) that are surrounded by miles of blue waves. The park is a beautiful spot where land meets sea, a truly unique place to spend in whether you’re walking, birdwatching, or to catching a stunning sunset.

Favourite place in Richmond: Steveston Village
Its blend of waterfront charm, rich fishing heritage, and walkable streets lined with local shops and seafood restaurants makes it an ideal place to unwind. I especially enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and the sense of history that lives in every corner. The sunsets over the harbour are some of the best in the city.

As a sports enthusiast, I love how the Oval brings people together through recreation, training, and world-class events. Whether it’s watching elite athletes in action or seeing locals enjoy the wide range of fitness facilities, I truly appreciate how the Oval showcases Richmond’s commitment to active living and community spirit.

Favourite place in Richmond: Steveston Village
Born and raised in Steveston, the village will always be my favourite thing about Richmond. From the Boardwalk to Garry Point, the Wharf, the Shops, and Restaurants, there is something for everyone! My favourite memories of Steveston growing up are having BBQs at Garry Point, the Salmon Festivals, grabbing Timothy’s frozen yoghurt with friends, enjoying Pajo’s on the floating wharf, and playing softball at the Steveston Ball Diamond.

Favourite place in Richmond: Richmond Country Farms
Richmond Country Farm is my favorite place to escape the city. It hosts two wonderful festivals each year: the Sunflower Festival and the Pumpkin Patch. With 20 acres of farmland filled with vibrant sunflowers or pumpkins, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I love wandering around, enjoying the charming farm animals and the picturesque duck pond.

The farm also features a fantastic market with a wide variety of agricultural products grown right here in British Columbia. Everything is so fresh and sweet. One of the highlights for me is the hand-crafted, award-winning wines. There’s nothing quite like sipping on a glass of wine while being surrounded by nature. It’s such a refreshing and peaceful experience.
