Since 2018 The Tourism Richmond Cooperative Marketing Investment Fund has supported industry partners to increase their capacity to deliver projects that grow Richmond’s tourism revenues. This is achieved through investing in industry-led marketing and experience development initiatives that foster collaboration, drive return on investment and align with Tourism Richmond’s business strategy.

The 2024 funding program is now open for applications and you can find all the info here. If you have a project in mind, we’d love to hear from you and discuss how we can support it!

Here are some examples of some of the great projects we’ve supported in previous years:

World of Kidtropolis – Summer Family Fun Passport

The World of Kidtropolis partnered with Tourism Richmond and other local Richmond businesses to provide families with a fun educational way to explore the City of Richmond with the Summer Family Fun Passport. This seasonal passport encompassed a selection of Richmond’s top attractions, restaurants, and more, featuring exclusive offers and discounts. In 2023, the Summer Family Fun Passport was in market from June 27th to September 4th.

How does the Family Fun Passport Work?

Families are first asked to register for the passport online, and then pick it up at Kidtropolis, and redeem this exclusive offer at participating Richmond businesses. In 2023, some of the offers included:

This seasonal event allowed participants to relax under the winery’s luscious grape vine tunnel while enjoying some wine and some laid-back tunes played by talented local musicians. The Summer Picnic Series was in market during the Summer of 2022, and most recently from July to September 2023, on select Saturdays and Sundays.

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet– Shoppin’ and Rockin’

The getaway included a luxurious stay at the River Rock Casino Resort, and an organized tour, which included a visit to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and IKEA, with exclusive offers provided.
