Once upon a time, Steveston transformed into a world of magic and mystery.
Fans of ABC’s hit show Once Upon a Time will recognize the fictional town of Storybrooke as the historic neighbourhood of Steveston, located right here in Richmond, British Columbia!
Film crews transformed this historic fishing village into Storybrooke, Maine from 2011 to 2017. Neighbourhood businesses can be seen in the show, and crews would spend hours changing signs and building set pieces prior to filming. The signage is no longer up, but many of the buildings and locations seen on the show are still very recognizable.
Here’s a handy guide to some of the locations featured in the show:
Steveston Visitor Centre is seen as the Storybrooke Post Office
Steveston Coffee Co. is seen as the Storybrooke Coffee Co.
Nikaido is seen as Standard Clocks
Romania Country Bread is seen as Storybrooke Country Bread
Along with exploring Steveston and checking out these filming locations, you can purchase licensed show merchandise and a Once Upon a Time walking map at the Visitor Centre. You can also try some Storybrooke-inspired beverages at local cafes and restaurants.
