In the first week of February, we hosted a dumpling-making workshop as part of a PR initiative to revitalize the Dumpling Trail. The workshop, run by Dumpling Trail participant Little Karp, hosted a total of 16 Vancouver media representatives.

The workshop was part of a revitalization initiative for the Dumpling Trail that began in October 2024. The intent of the workshop was to reintroduce and refamiliarize the trail with key media in the Metro Vancouver area in a fun and lively environment.
The event took place on the evening of February 3rd. Media were welcomed with refreshments and mingling. Nancy Small kicked off the event with a speech, followed by a dumpling-making workshop hosted by Chef Fanfan of Little Karp. The media assembled and folded their own dumplings, which Little Karp then prepared for them to enjoy, paired with house-made chili oils from the restaurant. After the dumpling-making, the media sampled small dishes from Little Karp’s Tasting Menu and their signature seafood risotto. Media left with full bellies and their own Dumpling Trail aprons, reusable chopsticks, and dipping dishes so they can continue their dumpling journey.

Overall, the event made great impact in the media, creating 274,872 impressions from the event alone and 43 pieces of coverage and 9,637,572 impressions on the overall campaign to date. The positive media coverage and high engagement levels demonstrate the strong interest and enthusiasm for Richmond’s culinary offerings. Notable pieces include social coverage from Dished Vancouver and a written article about the event from Gastrofork.

The success of the dumpling-making workshop highlights the effectiveness of our PR initiatives in revitalizing the Dumpling Trail. As we continue to build on this momentum, we look forward to further promoting the Dumpling Trail and showcasing the unique flavours and experiences it has to offer. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a memorable and impactful one.
