Thrangu Monastery, the first traditional Tibetan monastery in Canada, was open to the public in the fall of 2010. A gold leafed 15 foot tall statue of the Buddha is the main focus of the traditional Tibetan shrine room, flanked by 34 smaller buddhas and surrounded by 1,000 Medicine Buddhas.
Mandalas on the ceiling and traditional design elements make this a magnificent space in which to experience the compassion and beauty of the Buddhist tradition.
