Dear Team Richmond,

Through the ongoing challenges and unprecedented times, Richmond’s tourism industry has been resilient. At the beginning of 2022, our industry started out slowly, but we have gained excellent momentum throughout the year.

Attendees mingling at the Year End Celebration

We ended 2022 with our Year End Celebration, our first since 2019. In partnership with the Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel and Resort, we welcomed over 120 guests to an incredible celebration of our industry, collaboration, and the values that make Richmond continue to be successful.

The 2022 Richmond EPIC Awards were presented at the Year End Celebration

Tourism Richmond was excited to also celebrate the winners and participants of the first annual Richmond EPIC Tourism Awards. These awards celebrate the people, places, experiences, and attractions that make Richmond such a vibrant and welcoming place to visit. Each EPIC winner embodied Tourism Richmond’s values of Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Collaboration. Congratulations to the winners for all that you do in working together to make Richmond an EPIC destination.

Beauty Shop Dolls performing at the Year End Celebration

Along with the EPIC awards, the evening was filled with entertainment from a vintage vocal trio, the Beauty Shop Dolls, who performed classic Christmas music from the 1920s. Additionally, we had the honour of being hosted by the CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of BC, Walt Judas, as our MC for the celebration.

There are still many challenges ahead in 2023, but our team is ready and committed to live our purpose and support our community and the tourism industry.

Watch for an upcoming invitation to our 2023 Business Plan presentation. Details to come.

All the best over the Holidays and look forward to continuing our work together in 2023!

Sincerely,

Nancy Small
