2024 Discovery Shuttle Tour Highlights

This month, Tourism Richmond took front line staff on a familiarization tour featuring the Richmond Discovery Shuttle. The tour happened in advance of the shuttle starting its third year of summer operations on Saturday, June 22nd, providing a free service between Richmond hotels, transit stations, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and Steveston Village.

The tour was a great opportunity for visitor-facing staff from across Richmond tourism businesses to experience travelling on the shuttle and become more familiar with Richmond’s visitor attractions, so they can talk passionately and informatively about them to their guests.

What is the Richmond Discovery Shuttle?

The Richmond Discovery Shuttle is a free shuttle bus providing a convenient way for locals and visitors to discover popular destinations in the city. The free shuttle runs on weekends and statutory holidays from June 22 to September 8, 2024 and has two routes that interchange at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

Discovery Shuttle Familiarization (FAM) Tour

During the tour, Tourism Richmond highlighted the shuttle’s Yellow Line, starting at McArthurGlen before making a visit to Steveston’s two national historic sites, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and Britannia Shipyards. There, the group received an in-depth tour of the attractions, along with a delicious lunch from GoodCo Steveston.
