1. WALK RICHMOND

Looking to kick off 2026 on a positive health note? Drop by (no need to register in advance) for one of Walk Richmond’s guided city strolls. Aimed at all ages and fitness levels, there are five walks available this month––including Minoru Park and Fraserwood Trail––and each takes around an hour to complete. 2. WINTER WONDERLAND

The perfect way to prolong the magic of the festive season! Framed by sparkling decorations and a ceiling of twinkling lights, you can skate to your heart’s content at this city centre indoor rink. 3. TRIVIA MONDAYS

Dust off your brain cells, gather your smart-cookie friends and head to this popular Steveston shoreline bar for a quiz-tastic evening out. 4. PAINT NITE

Make 2026 the year you finally unleash your inner artist at one of Lulu Island Winery’s popular Paint Nite events. There are two dates in January, with dedicated picture themes including Snow Fox (January 9) and Mount Fuji (January 23). A much-anticipated annual fundraiser for Fishermen Helping Kids With Cancer, snag your advance ticket online before the big day, then head to Steveston to pick up your 20-pound bag of great value, locally caught herring. 6. STEVESTON ICEBREAKER

Smash your New Year’s resolutions early with this bracing 8km morning run or walk along Steveston’s scenic shoreline. Register as soon as you can––it’s very popular––and consider signing-up your kids as well: there are special 2.5km and 1km Kidsruns for junior joggers. A fun, family-friendly event, this is the perfect way to get on track with your 2026 fitness drive.

7. CHROMOPHILIACS ART SHOW OPENING 

Richmond Art Gallery, 7700 Minoru Gate, Richmond, B.C.

The launch event for one of Metro Vancouver’s most vibrant new art exhibitions, gallery curator Zoë Chan will introduce some of the 10 artists featured in this intriguing group show. The exhibition’s linking theme is colour and, specifically, how each artist utilizes it in their work. Following an informative tour of the works, there will be a reception where you can meet and greet the exhibitors.

8. COMEDY AT UKRAINE HALL

Don’t miss this rib-tickling great night out in the merrymaking company of four locally based comedians––direct from appearances at YukYuks, House of Comedy, Just for Laughs, Great Outdoors Comedy Festival and more.
