Running from May 2 to October 3 on select Saturdays, the City of Richmond’s Public Art Walking Tours invite you to explore the city’s vibrant art scene alongside local arts professionals. These free guided tours take you through neighbourhoods like Capstan Village, Minoru Park, City Hall, and Steveston Village—offering insight into the artworks and the artists behind them.

Available in both English and Mandarin, each tour provides a unique opportunity to experience Richmond through a creative lens. Registration is required, so be sure to secure your spot in advance.

1. STEVESTON VILLAGE (ENGLISH)

Steveston Fisherman’s Memorial

Tour Lead Bio:

Carmen Levy-Milne (she/her) is a curator and cultural worker born and raised on the unceded land of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm people, or what is commonly known as Steveston, BC. As a diasporic Jewish settler, her practice is primarily concerned with the Jewish philosophy of tikkun olam (“the repair of the world”), where she sees her work in the arts sphere as responsible for uplifting reparative, decolonial, and critical artistic responses to broader social, political, and cultural circumstances. She holds an MA in Critical & Curatorial Studies from UBC and a BA in Communication and Cultural Studies with a Minor in Religion and Cultures from Concordia University.

2. MINORU PARK & CITY HALL (MANDARIN)

Tour Lead Bio:

Rebecca Wang 王晨釔 is a curator and artist working between her hometown of Hangzhou, China, and Vancouver, Canada. Her curatorial interests span mythology, folklore, the everyday, and diasporic experiences. Her multidisciplinary practice navigates personal confusions about life, often stemming from the absurdity of capitalist consumer culture. As the Curatorial Assistant at Richmond Art Gallery, she has been curating exhibitions at Richmond City Hall Galleria and The Annex Gallery since 2022.

王晨釔是一位常驻家乡杭州和加拿大温哥华的策展人和藝術家。她的策展研究關注神話、民間傳說、日常生活以及離散經驗;她的多媒介藝術創作聚焦於個體在生活中所遇到的困惑,這些困惑往往與資本主義消費文化所折射出的荒謬感有關。作為列治文美術館的策展助理,她自2022年起負責 Richmond City Hall Galleria 和 The Annex Gallery 的策展工作,並為主展館作國語導覽。

Tour Lead Bio:

Jas Lally is a curator, art historian, and community builder with over a decade of professional experience in the arts. She is an Assistant Curator at the Surrey Art Gallery and is the Director of Art & Culture for the Punjabi Market Collective. Her extensive career includes roles at Capture Photography Festival, Vancouver Art Gallery, and Contemporary Art Gallery. Additionally, she has contributed her expertise as a board member for the Richmond Art Gallery Association and the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver.

Tour Lead Bio:

Andrea Valentine-Lewis (she/her) is an emerging curator and writer. She works as a Curatorial Assistant at Vancouver Art Gallery where she worked closely on exhibitions including Firelei Báez (2024), Rooted Here: Woven from the Land (2023), and Fashion Fictions (2023). She holds a BA in Art, Performance and Cinema Studies from Simon Fraser University and an MA in Art History from McGill University. She was recently named the 2025/26 Curatorial Fellow at the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art.

Tour Lead Bio:

Yun-Jou Chang situates her work at the intersection of art and community as an arts administrator, cultural producer, and facilitator. Born in Belgium, with a childhood that spanned Taipei and Prince Rupert, Yun-Jou is fascinated by language, memories, and the stories that we tell, and how they inform our ability to understand ourselves, connect with one another, and build community. She is the Executive Director of Cinevolution, a Richmond-based grassroots arts organization.

張雲柔生於比利時,童年往返於台北與魯伯特王子島,目前定居列治文並任職於當地多媒體藝術組織Cinevolution。作為一位藝術文化工作者兼獨立翻譯,長期關注語言、記憶、敘事等主題,同時致力於跨領域的社區聯結與探討。

Tour Lead Bio:

Jeffrey Boone is a Vancouver-based curator, collector, and consultant specializing in exhibition organization, cultural programming, gallery, and event management. Currently pursuing an MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies at UBC, with a focus on contemporary Indigenous art, he has played a key role in shaping Vancouver’s art landscape through strategic organizational development and fostering artist-patron relationships.
