As part of Tourism Richmond’s growing commitment to Regenerative Tourism, local businesses are taking meaningful steps toward more inclusive and sustainable practices. The Regenerative Tourism Grant Program is an initiative by Tourism Richmond that supports businesses in achieving third-party accreditation and adopting community-focused, environmentally responsible operations.
An early member of the Regenerative Tourism Grant Program is McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport Vancouver Airport, which earned the Rainbow Registered accreditation, a national designation recognizing businesses that are welcoming to the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

Open since 2015, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport is known for its European-style open-air layout, tree-lined streets, and top brands at up to 70% off. After attending an information session hosted by Tourism Richmond, the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport team pursued the accreditation to reflect their core value of inclusion and to foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all.
The accreditation process by Rainbow Registered helped McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport evaluate their practices, strengthen their inclusivity efforts, and align with national standards. With guidance and financial support from the grant program, they were able to take meaningful action toward long-term social impact.
“Tourism Richmond has been an incredible partner throughout both the grant and certification process. Their commitment to fostering a more inclusive tourism community is something we’re proud to be part of.” – Cindy Wang, Tourism Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport.
Tourism Richmond congratulates McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport for their leadership in advancing inclusion within Richmond’s tourism sector. Their achievement serves as a strong example of how third-party accreditation can support meaningful progress toward a more inclusive and sustainable future.
We encourage other Richmond businesses to consider following their lead through the Rainbow Registered program or the other three accreditations we support; BC Green Business, BetterTable, and La Tablée des Chefs.
