With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, now is the perfect time to plan some extra special treats for your sweetheart. From delightful dining to great gifts and from unique experiences to delicious goodies, Richmond is filled with creative ways to show your loved one how much you care. Read on for our Cupid-approved rundown of unique ideas and activities around the city.

Romantic Dining

There’s a tasty menu of Richmond restaurants offering Valentine’s dinner packages this year––starting with the three-course feast available at 75 West Coast Grill. Running on February 14, 15 and 16 and priced at $68 per person, main course options include flat iron steak and mushroom risotto while desserts include chocolate fondue.

Alternatively, Steveston Seafood House is serving a decadent February 12-13 Perfect Pairings Wine Tasting Dinner. Each of the menu’s five courses (including a main of filet mignon and duck breast) will be accompanied by a delicious wine recommendation. Book ahead for this special event, which is priced at $135 per person, tax and gratuity included.

An exclusive prix fixe menu is also on the table at Fairmont Vancouver Airport’s Globe@YVR from February 14-16. For $119 per person, expect delicious Pacific Northwest dishes with options including lobster tagliolini and Australian wagyu. Additionally, the hotel is offering a delightful Valentine’s afternoon tea service from February 14-17 ($65 per person).

Special Sleepover

After dinner, why not treat your sweetheart to a wonderfully indulgent sleepover? This year, top Richmond hotels––from Versante Hotel to the Fairmont Vancouver Airport and from River Rock Resort Hotel to Accent Inns Vancouver Airport––are participating in a special promotion that runs until April 16 (your stay must be completed by April 21).

Under the hotel booking offer, you can receive a VISA gift card worth up to $225. It’s the perfect way to pamper your partner at the same time as stretching your budget––just be sure to spend the money you save on an extra gift or two for your Valentine’s beau.

Sweet Activities

You’ll also need to book ahead for the highly inviting ValenWines event at Richmond’s Country Vines Winery. Running on February 8 and 9 and February 14 and 15, it costs from $30 per couple for this one-hour experience, where you’ll sample five wines paired with a variety of chocolates.

Speaking of chocolate, Steveston’s Sinfully the Best store is brimming with Valentine’s treats. You’ll find everything here from chocolate teddy bear figures to large chocolate hearts with candies inside. We especially love the little selection packs with heart, key and lip-shaped chocolates as well as the boxes of foil-wrapped solid chocolate hearts (milk and dark options available).

Treat-cravers should also consider the Little Fox Bakehouse, tucked inside the entrance to President Plaza, a few steps from Canada Line’s Aberdeen Station. Famous for its creative croissant flavours and lovely little cream puffs, they are also catering to 2025 Valentine’s fans looking for amazing edible gifts.

This year’s mouthwatering options include a large, raspberry-flavoured heart-shaped macaron; a personal four-inch chocolate strawberry cake; and a cute two-pack of macarons––one bear-themed and one heart-shaped. And don’t forget to love yourself while you’re here by picking up a little something just for you.

Perfect Presents

Need more Valentine’s gift ideas? Head to Steveston Village and explore the brilliant boutiques on and around Moncton Street. You’ll find lots of suggestions at A Monkey Tree, where we recently spotted artisanal Canada-made treats such as caramel candies, chocolate lollipops and red velvet toffee popcorn.

For non-edible pressie ideas, consider their gift packs of foot cream and fluffy socks or their cozy slippers patterned with red hearts. This is also a great place to find a cool Valentine’s card—they have a great selection at the back of the store.

But if jewelry is on your mind, stroll to nearby Juvelisto Design. This Steveston hotspot is home to a wonderful array of crafted rings, pendants and more. Give yourself plenty of time to peruse––and perhaps consider booking a workshop where you and your partner can design and create your own wedding rings.

Night Out

It’s not all about gifts, of course. If cupid’s arrow leads you and your partner to consider an evening on the town, book ahead for the February 14 Barenaked Ladies concert in the Show Theatre at Richmond’s River Rock Casino Resort. The beloved Canadian band will be singing all your favourite songs, from “One Week” to “If I Had $1000000.”

Alternatively, Lulu Island Winery’s admission-free Vibes & Vino event runs on the same day, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Alongside happy hour drinks specials and cheese and charcuterie platters, local duo Suede Dogs will be performing some smooth tunes for their chilled-out Valentine’s audience. It’s a great opportunity to raise a glass, toast your partner and find a delicious bottle to take home.
