Don’t miss this delicious day out, part of the 2026 Steveston Spot Prawn & Seafood Celebration. Staged on the village shoreline, you’ll find live music, chef demonstrations, spot prawn sales, hands-on activities and a side dish of World Ocean Day fun at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (complete with free admission). Kids will also love Spot Prawn Day’s bouncy pirate boat, face painting and circus performers. 2. DOORS OPEN RICHMOND

A much-loved annual event, this weekend-long extravaganza invites you to go behind the scenes at more than 45 Richmond hot spots. From art studios to National Historic Sites and from a recycling facility to the city’s official Artefact Storage Warehouse, you’ll discover exactly what makes each site, organization or community group tick. 4. RICHMOND CELEBRATES SOCCER

One of the world’s biggest sporting events starts this month––and Richmond is officially onboard with a host of goal-tastic happenings. The fun starts on June 12 when the Richmond Olympic Oval stages the city’s World Soccer Day Kick-Off Event, a daylong, family-friendly extravaganza with live music, interactive activities and big screen viewings of the first two games. It’s followed by six weeks of citywide community activities, concluding with a screening party for the final match at Aberdeen Park on July 19.

5. THE NIGHT IS LUMINOUS WITH STARS

7. MINORU PARK & CITY HALL PUBLIC ART TOUR

The third in a series of monthly, cost-free spring and summer art walks staged at various locations around the city (peruse the full line-up here), June’s event is aimed at Mandarin speakers. Your expert guide will lead you on an entertaining and informative stroll around the public art in Richmond’s favourite urban park before taking you to City Hall where further creations and installations await. The walk will last around 90 minutes and is aimed at participants of all ages.

8. NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY

The centrepiece of a month-long series of local events marking National Indigenous History Month, this family-friendly alfresco activity is actually a dual celebration. Alongside arts and crafts, interactive cedar weaving, cultural performances and authentic food (tasty bannock included), you’ll also find a full array of FIFA World Cup 2026™ fun to check out. Part of the Richmond Celebrates Soccer program, there will be sports-themed activities for visitors of all-ages here.

9. RICHMOND GARDEN CLUB SPEAKER SERIES PRESENTS DANTE BAIES

Craving inspiration for your own green-thumbed endeavours? Join the friendly folks from the Richmond Garden Club as they host a delightful presentation by local artist Dante Baies entitled A Painter’s Garden: Monet’s Garden at Giverny. French-speaking Baies personally worked in the world famous garden for several summers, and he will share his insights and photos on its illustrious history as well as its floral transformations as the seasons unfold.

Newly combining two formerly separate beer and wine events into one lip-smacking celebration, snag your tickets ASAP for what promises to be a sell-out Steveston night at one of B.C.’s most evocative heritage sites.
