Winter’s frosty grip is about to arrive. But there are still plenty of great reasons to wrap-up and head out in Richmond this month. From a bustling art show to live music happy hours and from top-notch karate contests to a high tea fit for a princess, there’s a full menu of local happenings to fill up your November calendar. And since Christmas is just around the corner, you’ll also find lots of ways to launch your festive celebrations. The perfect way to cozy up for winter––while also rounding out your week with a relaxing Friday wind-down––head to Lulu Island Winery for this warm and welcoming social event. You’ll find happy hour specials, cheese and charcuterie plates, a convivial atmosphere and a roster of different musicians throughout the month. 2. WALK RICHMOND

Make room for all those upcoming Christmas treats by joining the exercise-friendly folks at Walk Richmond. Several times a month, they organize free strolls around the city—and anyone (all ages/fitness levels are welcome) can drop-by and join in. This month’s walks include Horseshoe Slough, South Arm Park and more, and they’re a great way to stretch your legs, get some fresh air and earn the right to have an extra mince pie or three during the festive season.

3. O CHRISTMAS TEA

Brilliant British comedy duo James & Jamesy bring their celebrated festive show to Richmond for a sparkling four-performance run at the Gateway. Channeling the humour of Monty Python, Mr. Bean and more this whimsical, family-friendly production is a rollercoaster ride of comic fantasy as our heroes try to overcome some epic challenges en route to staging their famous Christmas tea party. 4. FROSTED FAIRYTALE TEA PARTY

7. WINTER IN THE VILLAGE

Transforming Richmond’s shoreline village into a sparkling holiday hamlet filled with festive fun, choose your days to visit and bring all the family along for a smashing seasonal excursion. 9. CANADA OPEN & BC OPEN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Cheer on all the skilled, high-energy competitors at this brilliant back-to-back martial arts showcase at the Oval. On day one, you’ll see developing and up-and-coming B.C. athletes competing and honing their moves, while day two is all about the country’s most elite exponents going to head-to-head in one of Canada’s most prestigious karate competitions. A great way to discover a new-to-you sport and watch some highly engaging competitive action.

10. RICHMOND FIREFIGHTERS’ BREAKFAST
