It’s a quintessential spring day in Richmond, sunny and buzzing with people eager to eat a delicious meal together. At Empire Centre, one of the larger strip malls in the city, families wait outside Chef Tony Seafood Restaurant for their name to be called for dim sum. With elevated dishes, such as siu mai dusted with black truffle shavings, this opulently chic room has become a main draw for the mall, alongside K Squared Mansion for the northern-Chinese style lunch buffet.

One Café

One Café, a Hong Kong-style eatery that first made a name for itself at Parker Place Food Court has recently expanded to Empire Centre. While the menu still features beloved cha chaan teng (“tea restaurant” in Cantonese) staples—like silky macaroni in ham broth and satay beef—this new location offers something exclusive: Stir Fried Nissin Noodle Combos. These comforting noodle bowls come with flavorful toppings such as tender pork cartilage in Swiss sauce or pan-fried pork chop with shallot and onion oil, making them a must-try for fans of classic Hong Kong style café fare.

Must-try: Wok-kissed instant noodles meet a tender pork chop in this Hong Kong-style comfort classic.

Cloud 9 Delicacy

Cloud 9 Delicacy specializes in Taiwanese-style meal sets that bring comfort food to a whole new level. Their menu features crispy, golden-fried chicken nuggets—so good that they’ve been recognized as a contender for the must-try fried chicken in Richmond. Lightly seasoned and perfectly crunchy, these nuggets pair well with their bento-style meal sets, which also include options like fried fish served with rice and a side of pickled vegetables. For those craving a well-balanced, satisfying meal, Cloud 9 delivers on both flavour and portion size.

Must-try: The salt and pepper chicken here should be on everyone’s Richmond dining bucket list.

Cha Don

Cha Don is the sister stall to Cha Kee, a well-loved food court spot in President Plaza, has now become a breakfast hotspot at Empire Centre. It’s best known for its irresistibly fluffy scrambled eggs. Their all-day breakfast combos are the main draw—generous portions of Hong Kong-style comfort food served with a complimentary hot drink. Whether you opt for crispy chicken cutlet, pan-fried pork chop, or their signature fish fillet, every plate comes with a side of those silky scrambled eggs that keep diners coming back.

Must-try: Fish fillet breakfast set and pineapple bun with silky scrambled eggs.

Riceholic

Best known for its viral giant mango mochi, Riceholic has also recently expanded to Empire Centre, marking its second location after Admiralty Centre. This chewy, pillowy-soft dessert features a thick slice of juicy, ripe mango wrapped in delicate glutinous rice, making it an instant favourite. Alongside this signature treat, Riceholic also serves comforting Taiwanese-style rice bowls, such as the crispy Taiwanese pork chop bento and golden prawn fried rice with salted egg yolk sauce. Whether you’re here for a hearty meal or just a taste of their famous mochi, Riceholic is a standout addition to the food court.
